On Thursday 2nd March, we competed in a Year 5 and 6 basketball tournament at Kingsmead School. We played 5 games, won 2, drew 1 and very narrowly lost 2. It was a great performance from the team, who showed determination, drive and excellent support and encouragemnt for each other- a real team performance. Well done.
On Monday 9th May, 16 of our children represented the school at a cross-country event at King's college in Taunton. It was a super event with many schools competing in the 1500m race. Our children showed great determination and effort and we are very proud of them all. Special thanks also to the parents, grandparents and carers who brought the children and cheered them all on.
Football Tournament
Nine of our key stage 2 pupils played five different schools at an area football tournament in Taunton. The children were a credit to themselves and the school on a bitterly cold evening. After a heavy defeat in the first game they showed real commitment, dedication and a desire to improve. As a result, they managed to get a couple of draws in the final 4 games and scored a goal which they clearly enjoyed, celebrating it as a team. Thank you to Mr O’Hara for both managing and supporting the team at the event.
Dodgeball
Four of our children represented our school at the Tone Schools Dodgeball Tournament. It was the first time that some of them had played dodgeball and the first few games were a learning experience. However the team demonstrated perseverance and collaboration and went on to the court with confidence and won their last games.
Tag Rugby Tournament
Nine of our Year 5 and 6 pupils played four different schools at a friendly tournament. The children were a credit to themselves in the spirit in which they played and how they supported each other as a team. After a heavy defeat in the first game they showed real commitment, dedication and a desire to improve. As a result, they won two games and drew the other.
