Learning and Development

We strive for all children to make progress in all 7 areas of learning in EYFS from where they were when they started at Rockets Pre-school, particularly in the prime areas of learning. They will be curious about the world around them and love learning. Children will be ready for their transition to school by showing their independence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning opportunities.

Prime Areas:

-Personal, Social and Emotional Development

-Communication and Language

-Physical Development

Specific Areas:

-Literacy

-Mathematics

-Understanding the world

-Expressive Arts and Design

During their time with us your child will learn through play experiences both inside and outside, with supporting and experienced staff to scaffold learning. Our progressive curriculum, which runs through Rockets into Badgers class, can be found here.

Key workers will complete a 'Progress Check' at 2 years old and this will be shared with you. They also know and plan for your child's next steps as well as documenting their progress termly. Please see the following links for information regarding children's progress:

Part of our role at Rockets is to help identify and support those with additional needs and you can find out how we do this here. You can arrange a meeting with our settings SENCo if you need to discuss your child's individual needs.
