What have we been up to? 2014-2015

Friday 17th July 2015

Today is the last day at Rockets! We hope all our children and their families have a lovely summer and we'd like to hear all about it when we get back to school.

We'd also like to say a big goodbye and good luck to our children moving on to school, we will miss you.

Thursday 16th July 2015

Since lots of our children are leaving us to move on to school, we held a little graduation ceremony to say goodbye and well done. We were very lucky to have Mrs Dunstan (the Headteacher of the school) to come and present the certificates. It was a lovely presentation followed by eating cake and playing outside in Rockets field.

Tuesday 14th July 2015

This years Wellington In Bloom competition theme was Boots and Bees. We have been working hard over the last few weeks planning what we'd do, planting the flower beds and even taking Welly boots home to plant with our parents. We even had honey on our crackers at snacktime to continue the theme, as well as playing with bright yellow playdough.

Thursday 2nd July 2015

Today we were very excited to go the Playcastle! We all had a brilliant time going down the slides and climbing through all the obstacles.

Wednesday 17th June 2015

Today was RGS Sports Day. Rockets children have loved practicing, so when the big day came, we couldn't wait until 11am for our race. We drank up all our milk at snacktime, claiming it would make us run super fast! It was great fun running in front of parents, grandparents, siblings, and everyone else. We were all proud of our stickers too.

Thursday 11th June 2015

Today we decied to pull up the radishes we have been growing. Look how big they are. Some of us said we'd eat them so we took them home with us.

Monday 1st June 2015

Welcome back to Rockets. We hope you all had a lovely half term. It's the final stretch now until the summer holidays, so our theme for this half term is Holidays/The Seaside.

Thursday 23rd April 2015

When the younger children went off to play in the hall, the older children had fun looking at different shapes and trying out lots of different shape activities.

Wednesday 22nd April 2015

Today we really enjoyed listening to The Smartest Giant in Town and dressing up like him.

Some of us also really enjoyed printing with fruit, and seeing the different patterns the fruit made with the paint! We used oranges, apples, peppers, kiwi and strawberries.

This afternoon we also had fun making our own fruit kebabs, which we enjoyed eating at snacktime.

Thursday 16th April 2015

Today we went out to play on the new climbing frame and play equipment on the Key Stage 1 playground, and we loved it. We enjoyed pretending to be pirates on the pirate ship and walking along the wobbly bridge.

Monday 13th April 2015

Welcome back to Rockets after a lovely 2 weeks off for Easter. We hope everyone had an enjoyable time off, but also hope that you're glad to be back.

Our theme for this term is Healthy Living. We are going to be looking at which foods are healthy and which are unhealthy and trying to be active by doing some obstacle courses and more! Keep an eye out for our 'Favourite Foods' display board.

Our books we are focusing on this half term are 'The Smartest Giant in Town' and 'Monkey Puzzle'.

Monday 23rd March 2015

Today we were very excited to have an open day with Badger class and some of our parents. It was Easter/Spring themed, so we had lots of fun making chocolate nests, making paper flowers, decorating bunnies and lambs, and planting some sunflowers. We then had an Easter egg hunt, and finally had a yummy snack of hot cross buns. Thank you to the parents that came, we hope you enjoyed.

Friday 20th March 2015

This morning we all had great fun playing with the Poddely. We enjoyed making a house and a tractor, and also walking along the wooden beams.

Thursday 19th March 2015

Today, one of our parents, a nurse, came to talk to us about our bodies. We were able to say where our hearts and lungs are in our bodies, and could also say that we have bones and blood inside us too! We all then had great fun being bandaged up.

Monday 9th March 2015

This week we are going to be very busy making some special surprises for Mothers Day. Wait and see...

Friday 27th Feb 2015

We have loved making caterpillars this week.

Monday 23rd Feb 2015

We would like to welcome everyone back to Rockets after the half term break.

Our theme this half-term is SPRING.

We are going to be making caterpillars and butterfly pictures and hopefully watching our crocus bulb flowering. We will also be making things for Mothers Day and Easter! Our book to focus on is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Friday 6th Feb 2015

This week at Rockets we have enjoyed a themed week - being Superheroes and Princesses. We have been making masks, crowns, and princess cones. We also enjoyed a royal banquet on Thursday.

We also went to play with the Poddely this week...look at the tractor we made.
