Striking Storm Frightens Fellows

By Imogen

Mr Tom Bawcock made the descision   to go out in the terrible storm to save his village.

In Mousehole in the south west of England a fishing village in Cornwall,.Tom Bawcock went out to save his village.
Just before Christmas  a giant storm started lashing against the great stone wall. Mr Tom Bawcock went fishing in the raging storm, he went out early and came back late at night .

Mr Tom Bawcock is over sixty . He has been fishing all his life. He took his cat with him but why? "Me and Mowzer go everywhere together she wanted to come and I wasn’t going to stop her.” answered Tom.

Just before Christmas, the worst storm in 100 years came to Mousehole. Mr Tom Bawcock decided to go out in the storm. Tom Bawcock explained, “I had to go out because I couldn’t risk anyone else’s lives.” There was no food left so he decided to take the risk and go out into the great grey and black ocean.“I took the safest route home, but what really helped was that all of my friends held lanterns to guide me home.

Mr Tom Bawcock went out into the great grey and black storm. Now every year they have a fish and lantern festival which you can come to and celebrate Tom’s adventure.
