Storm Hits Cornwall

By Riley C

One man goes out to save the day and risked his life.

A powerful raging storm hit the village of Mousehole. Mousehole is a village by the sea in Cornwall in the south west of England.
Just before Christmas a hero named Tom saved the village from starving at night.

Tom has lived in Mousehole all his life, same for his cat and his  job is fishing. Tom is 60 years old.
The biggest storm hit Cornwall in 100 years.  One man had to save the village so he got his tiny fishing boat through the narrow gap. There was no food left so he decided it should be him, so he risked his life for strangers. He went out to the blue green sea, then he could see the storm close up. He pulled the food up and there was lots off fish, then he saw the lanterns guiding him home He went through the narrow gap. “The waves were taller than my boat!” spat Tom.

He went to the Ship Inn again and took the fish and they had the biggest fish festival in the whole entire world, then they had a lantern parade and they had fish for life. The Ship Inn was packed with people about 200. There was star gazy pie and morgy broth. Everyone was shocked that he saved their lives even though they was a stranger to him, so he was famous and rich in one second.  His life was fabulous and he loved his life and he loved his villagers, his Dad, his Mum, but so much his little baby Mowzer. Tom loved Mowzer to the moon and back again.
