Kwik Cricket Team - Play-offs
Our kwik cricket team got through to the regional play off finals held at Taunton Vale on Wednesday 7th June. As has been true throughout the season we got off to a slow start and were well beaten by our first opponents, Bishops Hull. Typically after that we improved and played some excellent cricket with some very tight and controlled fielding. We lost to Creech St Michael by 1 run which meant that we were unable to go through to the Pool Finals. The final 2 games were very competitive, but we narrowly lost in both cases. Well done to the whole team and we look forward to the postponed Year 5 competition later in the month.
Year 4 Tennis Competition
Congratulations to our tennis team from Year 4 who represented Rockwell at the local tennis competition at Wiveliscombe Tennis Club, They put up a solid performance against 7 other schools and came out third, which is an exceptional effort prior to Wimbledon!
Monday 15th May
What a great day we had at Castle School on Monday. Our Year 3/4 Quadkid team competed in the morning producing some excellent results. Most notably Lewis May, who ended up as the best boy overall in the sprint, 400m run, vortex throw and standing long jump. Both Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams were less successful overall, but all the children performed brilliantly and as you can see from the photos they all had a good time.
Well done to the Hockey Team who came fourth at the County finals at Millfield School. The team had a lovely day and showed great determination and commitment in all their matches. They won some and lost some, but gave all the teams there competitive games. Lunchtime was a key turning point (!) and the team came out and produced some of their best hockey of the tournament.
Coming fourth was a great achievement and the children should be very proud of themselves.

We also have a School Sports Council called 'The Pink Panthers' who run regular competitions for children in KS1.
We run many sports clubs, both for key stage one and two. Take a look at some of our pictures.
Every Wednesday lunchtime, a group of children go to the local park to take part in some alternative activities and learn about keeping their bodies active.
