Raging Storm Hit Mousehole

 Reported By Ashton

A fisherman went fishing before Christmas in a raging storm and didn’t come back till late.

A powerful, raging storm hit the village of Mousehole. Mousehole is a village by the sea in Cornwall, in the south west of England.

Just before Christmas, a hero, named Tom saved the village from starving. He went out to sea in the ferocious storm and came back late at night.

The villagers were scared, visitors too.

The storm was the worst in 100 years but Tom went out to save the village of Mousehole.

Mr Tom Bawcock has a cat named Mowzer. Tom’s next door neighbour giggled, “He thinks his cat named Mowzer helped.”

He went out because there was no food left and to save the villagers Tom decided it must be him to go out.

Tom survived because he took the safest route there and back. He took his cat Mowzer because his cat wanted to come with him. The villagers lit their lanterns to guide him back.

When they came back they had a lantern parade and fish feast which is celebrated every year.
