Mousehole Miracle

Recently a horrendous storm struck the South West of England that starved villages and broke boats. Only one harbour was left untouched it is called Mousehole. It’s got its name because the gap in the great stone breakwaters is really narrow.

In the past week the storm struck the villages sinking the sailing boats in their home havens. It could not get into one harbour that had a really tall wall and an extremely narrow opening, The Mousehole.

There was a fisherman named Tom. He was the hero of Mousehole I asked him some questions; one of them was, were you courageous to go out? His reply was ‘’I didn’t think about being courageous” he said, “All I thought was to save my friends.’’

At the far end of England, Tom set out to save his starving village. The storm was raging to crush the fishing boats but the fishermen were smart and didn’t dare to set out the harbour. But one man was brave enough to go out in the raging storm, his name was Tom. Tom brought his cat because she purrs and he thought it would calm it. They set out to get fish for the whole village. And they succeeded! They got enough pilchards for half a hundred star gazy pies!
