BY CALLUM IN ROCKWELL GREEN
A heroic fisherman called Tom tamed a storm. He caught a boat-load of fish to feed the whole village!
In Mousehole which is at the far south west of England, a blue-green sea turned grey and black. The waves weren’t calm and nice any more, they were ruff and raging. The waves thrashed and through themselves against the great breakwaters.
Early in the morning on the 23rd of December, just before Christmas, Tom made a decision. “I told my cat, Mowzer my handsome we must go out and catch some fish.”
Tom Bawcock is a fisherman that went out into the worst storm in a hundred years. “I was glad to survive!” exclaimed Tom.
“I went into that storm and I was lucky to survive!” explained Tom. “My cat Mowzer came and helped me stay alive!” Tom told us. Tom caught a boat-load of fish and the village starved no more.
Tom went out into the worst storm in a hundred years to feed the village and then that night was forever named Tom Bawcock’s eve.
