Welcome to our Beam House residential page 2016

Check back here every day to find out how our days have been - there will be some information written by the children as well as lots of photos.

We spent the day at Miss Adam's grandparents' farm. We had a scavenger hunt, saw calves and sheep, made woodland pictures, and then had lunch in the barn. (see pictures below). The journey to Beam House took a little longer than it should have done, because two roads were closed and our amazing bus driver had to do a couple of detours.

We have arrived at camp and unpacked. We have had a site tour and we know the fire drill and where the toilets are. We are having dinner soon, and tonight we are doing 'wacky races'. The adults will be doing the races too, in their own team!

Check back in the morning for some 'wacky' photos!!

Day 2

Written by Bianca

We have had a really busy and exciting day and some of us have faced our fears. Our activities have been mud adventure, abseiling, climbing and a survivor challenge. We are now having our dinner, before an evening of visiting the shop and an ambush game.

Written by Reggie:

My favourite part of the day was abseiling, because it was a challenge, as you had to go down backwards. Although I have done abseiling before, I still felt really excited about doing it. Our main PGL leader is called Becca and all the leaders are very happy, cheerful and help us with our activities. They have taught us some new 'repeat after me' songs. We are having a great time here.

Today has been really exciting and the best activity was the mud challenge, which involved different obstacles through thick mud. Our leader, Holly, kept splashing us with water and putting mud on us. We even did the 'Hokey Cokey' in a massive puddle of disgusting water. Don't worry though, we made sure we had a really good shower after. We are now watching on, as people are visiting the shop. Later, we are playing a big game of ambush. We're not really sure exactly what this is yet, but we know it will be great.

Tomorrow we are doing even more activities. Make sure you check this page again for more updates.

Day 3

Today has been another fantastic day. We have taken part in a range of activities, such as high ropes, trapeze, archery, rifle shooting, the zip wire and aeroball. Again, many of us have challenged ourselves and faced our fears. We have also been really good at supporting one another. We have just had our dinner and many people are now at the shop. We are getting ready for a campfire later and we are going to sing songs and have marshmallows.

Earlier in the week, we said we would upload some photos of the 'wacky races'. Unfortunately, this has not been possible as much of the night was videoed and is not in a format which will upload currently. Fortunately, Miss Adams will create a video, which will be uploaded very soon for all to see.
